Canceling a Redis Cloud subscription requires deleting all databases under the subscription first. The cancellation process depends on whether the subscription is billed directly by Redis or managed through AWS Marketplace, Google Cloud Marketplace, Heroku, or Vercel. This guide explains where to cancel each subscription type, the prerequisites and cancellation steps, how to resolve common cancellation issues, and what happens to billing after cancellation.
Where to Cancel Your Subscription
| If your subscription was purchased through... | Where you manage cancellation | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Redis direct billing | Redis Cloud Console | Delete all databases first, then cancel the subscription. |
| AWS Marketplace | Redis Cloud Console and AWS Marketplace | The required steps depend on whether you want to cancel Redis Cloud service or disconnect AWS Marketplace billing while retaining your resources. |
| Google Cloud Marketplace | Redis Cloud Console and Google Cloud Marketplace | The required steps depend on whether you want to cancel Redis Cloud service or disconnect Google Cloud Marketplace billing while retaining your resources. |
| Heroku add-on | Heroku Dashboard | Remove the Redis Cloud add-on through Heroku. Subscription management is not available in the Redis Cloud Console. |
| Vercel integration | Vercel Dashboard | Manage billing and cancellation through the Vercel account that owns the integration. |
Prerequisites and Requirements
- Only Account Owners can cancel a subscription.
- Outstanding balances must be cleared before cancellation. Go to Billing & Payments → Pay now to settle invoices.
- All databases must be deleted before the Cancel button appears.
- Payment methods cannot be removed until subscriptions are fully canceled and balances are cleared.
Quick Fix Table
| Problem | What to Check | Quick Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel button missing | Databases still exist | Delete all databases first. |
| Cannot find the subscription | Wrong login provider or organization | Verify you're signed in to the correct Redis Cloud account and organization. |
| Cannot find the Cancel button | Insufficient permissions | Only the Account Owner can cancel a subscription. |
| Marketplace subscription | AWS, GCP, Heroku, or Vercel | Cancel through the marketplace or platform that owns the subscription. |
| Still being billed | Database deleted but subscription still exists | Delete the subscription after deleting all databases. |
How to Cancel a Redis Cloud Subscription
A. Redis Cloud Console
-

- Log into Redis Cloud Console.
- Navigate to Databases.
- For each database:
- Open Configuration → Danger Zone → Delete Database.
- Delete database guide
-
Cancel the Subscription
- Go to Subscriptions from the top navigation.

- Scroll down and click Cancel Subscription.
- Confirm in the dialog.
- Delete subscription guide
B. Cancel via AWS Marketplace
- Assign a direct payment method (credit card) in Redis Cloud before disconnecting to avoid unintended data deletion.
- Remove the AWS Marketplace mapping. If you encounter any problems or have any inquiries, please reach out to the Redis Support team for assistance.
- If it is your last AWS Marketplace–linked Redis account, you must unsubscribe directly in the AWS Console under Marketplace subscriptions.
C. Cancel via GCP Marketplace
Assign a direct payment method (credit card) in Redis Cloud before canceling to avoid unintended data deletion.
Unsubscribe in Google Cloud Console → Marketplace → Your Orders.
If it's your last GCP Marketplace—linked Redis account, all databases may be suspended or deleted once the subscription ends unless a payment method is added in Redis Cloud.
Common Cancellation Scenarios
I Deleted My Database but I Am Still Being Billed
Deleting a database does not cancel the subscription that owns it. Billing continues until the subscription itself is canceled.
To stop future billing:
- Verify all databases under the subscription have been deleted.
- Open Subscriptions in the Redis Cloud Console.
- Cancel the subscription.
- If your subscription is managed through AWS Marketplace, Google Cloud Marketplace, Heroku, or Vercel, complete any required cancellation steps in that platform.
I Cannot Find the Subscription or Cancel Button
If you cannot locate your subscription or do not see the Cancel Subscription option, verify the following:
- You're signed in with the correct login provider.
- You've selected the correct Redis Cloud organization.
- You are the Account Owner.
- All databases have been deleted.
- If your subscription is managed through AWS Marketplace, Google Cloud Marketplace, Heroku, or Vercel, manage cancellation through that platform.
Troubleshooting: Common Issues
| Issue | Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| No “Cancel Subscription” option appears | Databases not deleted or unpaid balance remains | Delete all databases and pay any balance |
| Blocked from canceling | Outstanding invoices | Pay invoices in Billing & Payments |
| Still billed after canceling | Subscription deletion not completed | Confirm subscription status in Subscriptions |
| AWS/GCP Marketplace billing prevents cancellation in Redis UI | Marketplace account mapping required | Follow AWS/GCP marketplace-specific cancellation steps |
| “Pay Now” missing in billing | Auto-retry cycle active | Wait for retries, or contact Support if it persists |
If issues continue, contact Support.
Billing after Cancellation
-
Canceling a subscription stops future recurring billing once the cancellation is complete.
Any charges incurred before the cancellation, including unpaid invoices or previously accrued usage, remain payable.
Outstanding balances must be paid before closing your Redis Cloud account.
- For billing terms, see Redis Cloud Terms of Service.
