Creating a Redis Cloud account is the first step to deploying high-performance, fully managed Redis databases on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. This guide covers how to register for a Redis Cloud account using the standard signup flow or via cloud marketplaces (AWS and GCP). It also includes important behavior notes to avoid common onboarding confusion.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Visit the Redis Cloud sign-up page
- Go to Create a Free Account
2. Choose a sign-up method
- Enter your name, email, and password, then click Sign up with Email,
OR - Use Google or GitHub to sign up with an existing account.
3. Activate your account
- Check your inbox for an email verification message.
- Click the activation link to confirm your account.
4. Access the console
- After activation, you’ll be redirected to the Redis Cloud console.
- From there, you can create your first database by selecting a plan, cloud provider, and region.
Marketplace Signup Flows
If you’re signing up through a cloud marketplace, the flow is slightly different:
AWS Marketplace
- Subscribe to the Redis Cloud product via AWS Marketplace.
- You’ll be redirected to Redis Cloud to either log in or create an account.
- Once logged in, Redis Cloud will map your account to your AWS subscription.
Google Cloud Marketplace
- Sign in to Google Cloud and find the Redis Cloud listing.
- Click Subscribe and proceed to the Redis Cloud portal.
- When prompted, create or select your Redis Cloud account to link with your GCP billing project.

Account Behavior and Limitations
-
One direct Redis Cloud account per email address.
You cannot register multiple independent accounts with the same email. -
Plus addressing is supported if needed (e.g.,
alex+dev@company.com). -
Invitations override account creation.
If you’re invited to an existing account and use the same email, you’ll join that account instead of creating a new one. -
Social login behavior:
- If the email is new, a new account is created.
- If the email has been invited, you’ll join the invited account.
- If already used, you’ll log into the existing account.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| No verification email | Check spam/junk. Resend from the signup page if needed. |
| Signup link expired | Start over at Sign up Link |
| Social login fails | Ensure you approved the required permissions and your social account email hasn’t been used elsewhere. |
| “Account already exists” | Try logging in instead of signing up. Use password reset if needed. |
